General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Unfortunately the pain may persist to some extent for a long period of time especially if the imaging is showing damage and fluid. The fluid occurs as a result of the muscles and joints being inflamed/irritated. Anti-inflammatory medications such as Naproxen, Ibuprofen or Celebrex along with physiotherapy, may help somewhat.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
