What Causes Pain In The Sternum Area After Eating Certain Food?

Yes. I sometimes have a pain after I eat certain things in between my breast kind of at the start of the middle of my rib cage and it is tender there if I press in all the time. I had a toss salad for lunch and it started . I passed now. I just had a physical and my prime care dr. didn t really know what it could be. Said not a location for some things hernia or gal bladder?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From what I can make of your symptoms, it is most likely esophageal spasm. Do you generally eat in a hurry? I would advise you to eat your food slowly after chewing properly. Also, how long have the symptoms persisted for?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Raunak Saha
