What Causes Pain In The Testicle During Onset Of Puberty?

My son is just starting puberty and is complaining of a dull pain in his left testicle. Seems to have been gradually getting worse over the last few days. Both testicles seem to be growing though not abnormal. Is this normal for a child beginning puberty?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, welcome to HCM
I appreciate your concern for your son.
Dont worry.the first change in the body during puberty is increase in the volume of the testes.
Sometimes it is fast and causes stretching of capsule and pain.
This is normal..
Only treatment is taking NSAID for few days.
But there are some other conditions that can cause pain too are
Mild tortion,orchitis,tumour etc.
You need to consult a surgeon immediately and go through the tests..
Hope this is helpful.
Regards.
