What Causes Pain In The Testicles?

Hi, I went to the doctor today after having some dull aches in my front upper left testicle. The pain had actually gone away after I did some pelvic floor stretches, and returned after I started stressing about going to the doctor. I did a urine test and it came back as plus one, or something like that, but he said outside of that normal. He evaluated my scrotum and said he didn t feel any lumps, and also looked at my anus, since I had had some blood after wiping, he said I had hemorrhoids. On the way home my testicle hurt more than before. He prescribed ciprofloxacin for epidydimitis, even though the majority of my symptoms are now in the taint, and around the anus area. I was hoping to get a second opinion after reading the reviews of the medication. Should I take the antibiotic, or should I have been diagnosed differently possibly, is plus one a sign of infection? Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it!!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be testicular torsion.

Please let me know do you have a history of injury, testicular swelling, penile discharge, history of heavy weight lifting.

For that, I would suggest you do color doppler of the scrotal area.

For pain, you can take tab. motrin. Use scrotal support.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
