What Causes Pain In The Throat And Stomach?

My grandson went to the doctors with severe, semi-acute pain in his throat and stomach, stating that he couldn’t swallow. We thought it was possibly Strep throat since he felt as though he may have a fever as well. My daughter took him to the doctors and they ruled out strep throat and sent them to the ER for imaging. After they did a CT scan at the hospital they are saying he has air in his throat and stomach and they can’t explain why. They are having to use morphine to address the pain. Now they are transferring him to the children’s hospital for additional testing. What are the possible causes?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

it seems like upper respiratory tract infection. You can take Azithromycin twice a day for 3 days. You can take Tramadol and paracetamol combination 2 times a day for five days. Don't eat commercial products don't eat cold drink and chocolate chip cookies and cream cheese.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
