What Causes Pain In The Tongue And Ear While Having Ear Infection?

Been having pain on my tongue for about 2 weeks and my ear started hurting yesterday so I went to an urgent care and he said I had a minor ear infection. Tonight I found a bean size lump on my neck where my lymph nodes are. Should I get this checked out or could it be part of the ear infection. Not really me ear that hurts it s just below it around my neck

Hi,

As per your query about pain in tongue and ear while having an infection is because of infection in ear there is pain in ear and regional lymph node swelling which is also painful. You need not to worry and consult an ENT specialist for antibiotics prescription.

Pain in tongue seems to be due to apthous stomatitis and glossitis which can be due to stress and decreased immunity sometimes. You can apply Chlorhexidine gel or numbing gel over it for relief in pain. If it doesn't seems to be healing consult an oral physician for a proper evaluation and examination. It usually heals within 7 to 10 days. Take a multivitamin supplements daily for few days as their deficiency sometimes causes stomatitis and glossitis.

I hope the information helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
