What Causes Pain In The Tongue While Suffering From Pneumonia?
One month ago I was diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia about one week later my so was diagnosed with strep throat and shortly there after I thought I had thrush.....my tongue was coated white and felt like it had been burnt. My dr gave me meds for thrush but my tongue still hurts. Now my symptoms are a terrible headache going on day 5....wheezing.....cough....extreme fatigue....very sore neck.....my Dr told me I have double pneumonia ( no xrays were given). I am wondering if I may have meningitis.... Any thoughts? I am wondering if I didn't get strep from my son which would explain my tongue being coated white and sore and just didn't realize I had strep
Your symptoms can be due to Double Pneumonia only, but for a confirmation, you should get a chest x-ray and blood culture done. Also, sputum culture can be done. For painful coated tongue, you can be advised another course of anti-fungal medicine like Nystatin mouthwash.
You should also suck Clotrimazole lozenges and take oral anti-fungal medicines like Fluconazole. Take more of probiotics like Yogurt. You should also gargle with a specialized mouthwash like Magic mouthwash so that the irritation, inflammation, and infection subside.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
