What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen On The Left Side?

I have been getting pain on my left side upper abdomen just below rib cage. It usually comes on gradually as the day progresses. I don t believe it is related to anything I eat as somedays I don t eat lunch and still get these sharp almost burning pains. This has been going on for a few months now, just kept thinking that it would get better. Had a colonoscopy a few months ago and everything was good.

In my opinion these pains may be due to gastritis.
Avoid skipping any meal.
Consider taking Ant acids for symptomatic relief.
Another cause which may lead to such pain is infection of lungs.
A chest X ray can be done to rule this out.
