What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen On The Left?

I m a registered nurse, and feel like I should be able to answer my own question, but I need your input!! Barely three years ago I had a thoracotomy done to repair a twisted stomach, and a 10cm esophageal hernia. I have begun having SEVERE pain in my left upper abdomen, just under my ribs, and even pain when pressing on my sternum. I m healthy(otherwise). No b,p issues, no cardiac problems. I can hear what sounds VERY STRANGULATED sounds in my upper abdomen as well. Your thoughts?? I realize that you can t diagnose me....just wanted another medical opinion. Thank you so very much!!

Hi,

As a first line management you can apply Clindamycin lotion for symptomatic relief. If lesion persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
