Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
65 yr female; for 3 days have had very painful upper abdominal grinding cramps. So severe I cannot eat much and at times takes my breath away. Thought it was food poisoning, but that was 3 days ago, and the acute diarrhea only lasted 24 hrs. The upper stomach pains feel like knife twisting or wringing. Any suggestions?
Good day and thank you for posting this question. Sorry about the pain. You have what is called Dyspepsia. If I were your doctor, and based on your age, I will advice you to do an Endoscopy (an upper gastrointestinal) to look at what is going on. For now you can take Antacid and Esomeprazole for the pain. I hope it helps. Thank you.
