Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was working out the 3 days ago doing an arm exercise were you pull the bar down and to your chest. Well I might of over done it because I felt something weird happen in my bicept but just kept going after that for a little bit. The next morning I woke up and my arm won t stretch completely straight. I might of tore a muscle or something but I m not completely sure. The pain is somewhat getting worse. The other arm in now hurts but not as bad as the right. Is this just really bad soreness or should I get it checked out?
any exercise should not be done so aggressively. In your case looks like you have over done it,pain is common as muscles are stretched and this leads to pain but that happens in the beginning, when you do it regularly pain is not supposed to be there so much.but when you do it aggressively this can happen even if you do it regularly. If its very difficult for you to move your arm like abducting it ,rotating it,assuming that you are doing the exercise daily from a long period ,then its better to see a doctor and get it checked. Also if necessary the doctor will advice you some tests if he or she thinks there is some serious issue with it.if its managable pain with medicine then you will be given painkillers or muscle relaxants and that will help.so I think why to keep doubting ,its always good to see a doctor if there is some health condition.
