Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Occasionally, I m getting some acute pain in various part of my upper back and/or chest. No other heart attack - type symptoms occur, and it typically goes away in 10-15 min, sometimes coming back the same day. Could it be just muscle related thing and what to do to get rid of it. It happens every month completely unexpected. Thanks, Boris

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The pain can be muscle pain due to overuse/calcium, vitamin D deficiency. Try to avoid over exertion, life gut massage by muscle relaxer ointment &over the counter pain medicine like paracetamol would help. Supplement with calcium with vitamin D pill over the counter would prevent recurrence. In case of no response to the home management and consult your doctor for investigations for the spinal/bone issue.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
