What Causes Pain In The Upper Back Between The Shoulder Blades?
Having an aching pain in my upper back between shoulder blades and down the side of the spine to bra line. Came on the day after an 8 hour car ride. Hurts when I cough and sneeze but can take deep breaths in. Doctor thought it was just muscle related and gave me muscle relaxer & anti-inflammatory. Neither seems to work. This all started between shoulder blades and on left side area then went just to the middle and now on the right side while still hurting in the middle. Could not lie on either side at first...can now. Advil seems to work better than those two meds. I have Lupus and was wondering if any of this could be related to that.
The way you explain your pain it is very likely it is muscular and if Advil is helping better, I would advise you to take one Advil every 6 hours after food to protect your stomach.
Please be mindful to not use the other anti-inflammatory the doctor prescribed if you use Advil as both are anti-inflammatory drugs. If no improvement in a week or any worsening please see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
