What Causes Pain In The Upper Back While Suffering From Chronic Cough?
Hi, I had a bad cough for weeks (approx 5-6 weeks)which went untreated. When I coughed I was Out of breath , especially towards the end of the 5 weeks). I went to the doctor and he gave me an antibiotic and a preventative puffer to use for 2 weeks. I finished my medication 2 days ago and am still using my puffer and the cough and weezing has gone . My concern is that my middle to upper back is sore. It started to get sore just after I saw the doc. I m not sure if this is due to my post infection or something worse?
Hey there, Thank you for your query in healthcare magic. I carefully read your query and understand your piont of concern.
According to your presentation this pain seems to be originated from your chronic cough. Due to chronic cough excessive use of your muscles causes back pain.if you don't have any other symptoms then it is not serious.
You may take pain killer like ketorolac or naproxen for pain relief. You can take any muscle relaxant like baclofen or tolperison.
Yor can apply hot compression to your back, that also help you to get relief.if you have no improvement in it then you may consult with a doctor.
Wish you good health. Regards, Dr. Farhana.
