What Causes Pain In The Upper Back?

I tweaked my back while typing on my computer. I was bent over a bit then I straighten my back fully and then a sharp pain immediately went through my mid to upper back. My lower back was not affected. At times when I inhale and exhale it hurts my back. Thank you.

Hi,

Regular typing with the wrong posture is likely to cause spinal/disc problem to give you the symptoms.

X-ray thoracic spine would confirm/exclude the possibility. Followed by specific physiotherapy & medications along with adjusting the normal position while working.

Till then rest, over the counter pain pills, & back extension exercises would help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
