What Causes Pain In The Upper Body, Neck And Shoulders?

On Oct 3, a Monday, I went in for my regular checkup. Got a flu shot while there. Everything was fine until I woke up on the following Monday Oct 10, and it felt like I had been hit by a Mac truck. I was perfectly fine until I wasn t and have been dealing with the pain ever since. It is mostly in my upper body, neck and shoulders. The only thing that relieves the pain is Steriods....but the minute I stop taking them the pain comes back with a vengeance. Could it be a reaction to the flu shot and what can be done?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Pain in the upper body, neck and shoulders is probably not due to the reaction to a flu shot. However, the flu can lead to pain in the upper body, neck and shoulders.

I suggest you continue with steroids for duration prescribed by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
