What Causes Pain In The Upper Left Quadrant Of The Abdomen?

I have upper left quadrant abdominal pain. I have already had my gallbladder removed. The pain is a constant ache with intermittent sharp pain that radiates from the front to the back and also radiates down to my appendix area. I have already been to the emergency room several times but they say that it is not my appendix and can not give a sufficient answer as to why this pain reoccurs. They also find that my white cell count is lightly elevated but they just pump me full of antibiotics and pain meds. this is always a temporary fix and I feel ok for awhile but then it comes back and I go through the same cycle.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

We need to get an ultrasound and A ct preferable of the area to look for what is wrong. It could be early hepatitis also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Harshita, Ophthalmologist
