What Causes Pain In The Vaginal Opening After Treatment Of Yeast Infection?
I had a yeast infection, and was given treatment to help heal it. The discharge and burning has stopped. This was about a week ago since I ve been treated for the yeast infection. I have attempted to have sex twice with my boyfriend now, each time accompanied by an excruciating pain in the opening canal of my vagina towards the top. It feels almost as though it is swollen and sore on the inside, he cannot fit himself inside of me. What are the possible explanations?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. What problem you are facing with pain at the vaginal opening during intercourse could be due to vaginal muscle spasms and lack of lubrication. Kindly do pelvic muscle relaxation exercises for a week to make sure you would overcome such spasm. Also, use moisturizer cream at bedtime. Use vaginal pH balancing solution like 'v wash' regularly. Make sure to use water based lubricants during intercourse to achieve proper lubrication. Gradually you should overcome this problem. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
