Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain on both sides of my zygomatic bones that is excruitiating at times when I open my mouth or use my muscles in my mouth. I can barely open up at times. This has been going on for years and is getting progressively worst as the years go by. What can this be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in zygomatic bone which can occur due to soft tissue injury leading to rupture of blood vessels and loss of subcutaneous fat.
Need not to worry. You should consult oral physician and an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get evaluated and a proper examination and investigations like facial x-rays can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. For soft tissue injury you should start taking anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and start doing cool compresses.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
