What Causes Pain In Thigh Radiating To Calf And Foot?
I m a 45 y/o female & just the past few days I ve noticed an excrutiating burning that starts at the outer thigh & goes down to the outside of my calf & into my foot. Even when I shift weight to my left foot it continues to burn. When I walk or sit down, it begins to subside but it takes about 15 minutes. With the burning, comes a slight weakness in that leg also.
Hello As per your clinical symptoms it seems that you are having radicular pain( most probably Lumber radiculopathy ). It is a condition of radiating pain when the nerves arising out of your spinal cord get compressed in between two consecutive vertebra. I would suggest you to do a MRI scan of your Lumbo-Sacal spine with screening of the whole spine and consult a neurosurgeon or a spine surgeon. For the time being do not bend forward, do not sit on floor or squat, do not lift heavy objects. you may use some analgesics and antacid if the pain/burning sensation is severe. Use L-S corset and try some extension exercises ( not when the pain is severe). Get well soon.
Thank you.
