What Causes Pain In Thighs Along With Purple Bruising?
hi I m so sorry ...I don t want to take up your time. I was just thinking back to something that happened to me years ago. I was 14 it started out as pain in my thigh. I didnt think too much about it since id been horse back riding. the pain increased and purple bruising began going down my leg. It became so bad i couldn t straighten my leg or walk. It lasted about a week or so and it went away i was just trying to figure it out
Hello and welcome to HCM, Development of bruise on the thigh is most commonly caused due to trauma. Thus, is there any past history of trauma to the thigh? If yes then trauma is the probable cause. If there is no such history and bruise has developed spontaneously, then it may be due to some platelet related disorder or disorder of coagulation factors. I suggest you to get some investigations like complete hemogram with platelet count, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time to assess the platelets and the coagulation system.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
