Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m on day 6 of my recovery after my tonsillectomy..it seems like a never ending process of constant pain.. I m eating as much as I can and drinking lots of fluids.. I have a little 1 year old and want to get better ASAP. Do you have any tips and when do you think I will be back to eating normal again?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain pain after tonsillectomy or any surgical procedure is not an abnormal finding but in case if the pain is excessive you should consult your treating surgeon so that he can do a clinical evaluation and check for any infections. If there is infection a course of antibiotics will be advised.. If not so higher painkillers like Tramadol and injectable painkillers and steroids to reduce inflammation and pain at a faster rate can be given..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
