What Causes Pain In Throat?

Hi, recently I started developing a pain on the right hand side of my throat. I went to the doctor yesturday and was diagnose with a throat infection and supplied me with antibiotics. However, I have just woken myself up because I m having trouble breaking and feel as if the back of my throat is closing up. I looked in the mirror and the back my throat looks way smaller. I m scared that s it s going to continue. I m only 14 and told my parents but I ve been known to be a hypochondriac so I don t think they believe me.. Please help, it s scary and I don t know what to do.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that you may have tonsillitis leading to enlargement of tonsils due to infection and inflammation due to which you find narrowing or smaller throat..

As you continue taking your medicines prescribed to you by your doctor slowly in coming three to four days the inflammation will subside and the swollen tonsils will return to their normal size and your throat will be perfectly alright..

Even though if you are hypochondriac but if you feel uneasy you can show your throat to your parents and they will surely understand your concern once they also see the exact condition of your throat..

I would suggest you to take your medicines on time..
Take soft and less spicy and cool food items to help you subside your infection soon..
You can take soothening lozanges..
Do warm saline gargles will help..

See for next 3 to 4 days and if the condition does not improve meet your doctor again...
