As per your complain and explanation of symptoms it seems that you are suffering from a condition known as GLOSSO-PHARYNGEAL NEURALGIA which is a 9th cranial nerve and is caused by a number of reasons like Compression of nerve by some artery or vein, any tumour or cyst compressing over the nerve,Multiple sclerosis etc.. It leads to episodes of severe pain on the effected side of tongue,throat ,ear,tonsil and at tiimes same side of head also.. The pain can exaggerate during eating,speaking yawning,laughing etc and trigger the pain.. You should consult a NEUROPHYSICIAN and get evaluated and a high resolution CT SCAN or MRI can help in ruling out the exact cause of the pain and removal of the underlying cause can relieve the symptoms.. For relief of pain anticonvulsant medicines like Carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, gabapentin, and pregabalin can be advised by the neurophysician.. Surgical treatment like Microvascular decompression or Gamma knife radiosurgery or nerve resectioning techniques can help in surgically treating the condition as per the cause and medical condition of patient..
