Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. My tragus hurts (right ear) whenever I m sleeping , and it even wakes me up at time. I sleep on my right side so after I switch sides the pain disappears after a few minutes. The pain is only there when I m sleeping and it s just the targus that feels dull and hurts. I have no other symptoms :/
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having pain in tragus of the ear known otitis externa, where superficial skin of pinna and ear canal gets infected. It could occurs due to ear infection, change in pressure, earwax buildup, a foreign object in the ear , strep throat and sinus infection. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may examine by ordering tests like CT scan and can start with otoscopic examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
