What Causes Pain In Upper Legs And Knees?

My upper legs and knees have been hurting for three weeks. Sometimes so painful that it is difficult to walk. At rest , often times, my legs will thrash and I will experience muscle spasms. I have also been feeling extremely exhausted and fatigued. I am a 46 year old female.

Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

There are many reasons for these problems. The first may be anemia. Anemic pains are like this. Muscles feel weak and exhausted as they can't take sufficient oxygen from decreased hemoglobin and/or red blood cells. You need to go for Complete blood count with peripheral film and differentials.

It may be due to the electrolytes and minerals imbalance. Calcium and potassium levels getting low may cause it.

Are you diabetic??? How is your blood sugar levels?? Chronic uncontrolled diabetes may also lead to the same issues and need HBA1C blood levels to see the blood sugar control in the long run(if diabetic).

You need to consult your physician for complete evaluation and treatment.
Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
