I just started a new job as a housekeeper. Today when i was making one of my beds i felt a sharp pain by my upper right shoulder blade. I know its swollen because i can feel it. I know its a pulled muscle to my understanding but it hurts everytime i can a breath in. I had a pulled muscle before but never hurt when i breath in. Can you please tell me why this is happening?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Its most likely to be a musculoskeletal pain in nature. Certain muscular pain may have pain in inspiration as well as postural changes. Local tenderness on pressure helps this diagnosis.
You may use diclofenac gel locally with hot compression. In severe cases take oral aceclofenac and thiocolchicoside along with proton pump inhibitor. Rest of the affected limb for atleast 3days is also necessary. If not cured there might be a chance of ligament tear.
