What Causes Pain In Vagina During An Intercourse?

This is a gynecologist question. I have an open sore on the very edge of my vagina opening that hurts, mostly during and after sex. I ve had several appointments with my gynecologist and they have completely ignored what I ve told them. Any suggestions on what I should do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The sore in the opening of the vagina can be related to genital herpes. I suggest to do a vaginal swab to confirm the diagnosis. If the diagnosis is confirmed I suggest using antiviral medications such as Acyclovir three times a day for seven days. I also suggest using antiviral cream for local application such as Acyclovir cream.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
