What Causes Pain Near The Hips While In Sitting Position?

I have pain on my left side which seems to be around my hip area. it hurts to lay on my left side as well as to sit. The only thing I get relief is to stand up. I have been to the doctor to see if it was a kidney infection which I was treated for UTI with antibiotics. The pain is only getting worse. I also have been to the chiropractor 4 times and that hasn t helped.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, get urinalysis and ultrasound KUB to rule out renal colic. If these are unremarkable, it can be muscular. Using OTC analgesic like acetaminophen or ibuprofen alongside muscle relaxants like Orphenidine or Tizaindine can help. If problem persists orthopedic surgeon review may be needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
