Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain On And Along The Back Of The Head?
I have pain along the back of my head about half way up. I have also have migranes and sinus problems from time to time. This pain started a few weeks ago and continues from late afternoon until evening. I have never had this back of the head pain before.
The pain seems to be related to muscular tension. In this case taking paracetamol and ibuprofen might help and also local compresses and gentle massage. Sometimes bad posture or problems with the bed and pillows can affect the muscles of the back and neck and cause pain in the back of the head.
Some exercises might help and a physiotherapist can give you the proper exercises for you.
If these measures do not help or you notice any worsening then you will need to see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
