What Causes Pain On Left Side Of The Chest?

Once when I was small, the whole class had to take their heart rate. Everyone else had about eighty, but I had one hundred and five. I wasn t nervous though, so it made me confused. I took my grandma s heart rate, which was 87BPM. Mine was 109BPM. I ve also been having chest pain where my heart is. What is this?

Hi,

Tachycardia( increased heart rate) can be due to various reasons. sometimes it can be just because of anemia ( low hemoglobin ), exercise, stress or even due to consuming too many caffeinated drinks like coffee, lack of sleep, or anxiety.

However, there are many other detailed medical causes( with many fancy names ) like heart related conditions, thyroid hormone disorders, any infections.

So first of all focus on your lifestyle. take care of your diet, and sleep. If possible find time for walk or meditation.

If however, symptoms persist then go for some investigations like complete blood count, TSH, ELECTROLYTES,and ECG.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta
