What Causes Pain On Right Side Of Head And Ear Inspite Of Taking Tylenol?

I have been experience a headache on my right side for 4 days, Tylenol works for a while but pain comes back, my blood pressure usually 110/70 has been around 150/90 and I just found a lump behind my right ear, painful to the touch and 1 over my right eye. Any idea? I went to urgent care this morning and they send me drugs for pain and that was it.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain on right side of head and ear inspite of taking Tylenol which seems to be due to fungal infection, wax build up, fluid accumulation, Eustachian tube dysfunction and systemic disease infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for a week along with decongestants. Put Otogesic ear drops. You should go for audiometer testing as well to check hearing level. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. You should keep your ear dry until it gets alright , which is very important and cover your ear while bathing .
