I always ware flat shoes but I decided to start wearing heel again. It has been years since I have worn heels. A few hour after I walked around the house in the heels I experience a tight pain in the bottom of my right foot. It feels like a muscle or something. I a friend said because I only ware flat shoes trying to walk in the heels may have cause my arch to fall. Is this true, what can I do?
Hello dear I understand your concern High heels put your calf muscle and Achilles tendon in an abnormally shortened position and cause tightness and pain. Take following advises: Do some stretching exercise after wear off the high heel: Facing a wall, place one foot in front of the other with both feet flat on the floor. Bend your front knee and keep your back knee straight. Hold for 90 seconds and switch legs. Repeat three times throughout the day to continue relieving the pressure.
Place a few pillows underneath your feet. It helps your venous system return blood from your lower body back to your heart and bring down some swelling, Do not wear continuously and give some break in between. Soak your leg in the warm water with added epsom slat for 20 minutes at the end of the day Hope this may help you
