Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The inside of my thighs hurt and it hurts worse if you touch the inside of the thigh. It s a straight line from upper thigh to knee. I am 58, and take Atenolol 25mg once a day for high blood pressure. The only other medicine I take is Activella 0.5-0.1 mg for hormone replacement.
Since there is pain from upper thigh to the knee in a straight line on the inner aspect of the thigh the most probable cause I can think about is a muscle strain, particularly the gracilis and hamstring muscles. This usually occurs in people who run or walk fast, or while turning at corners in a fast way and so on. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult a General OR Orthopedic Surgeon for a clinical examination so that clinical diagnosis and proper management is done. If required he would advise you X-rays and MRI for support to the diagnosis. Take rest, do not strain the already painful area. Take an anti-inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
