Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This may indicate
diverticulosis of
sigmoid colon which is located in this part of abdomen. Treatment for it depends on severity of infection which is called
diverticulitis.
In every case, at this point you need to drink plenty of fluids, take probiotics, yoghurt, and diet that is low in fiber until the pain goes away, then increasing the amount of fiber.
In severe cases treatment may include: medicines such as antibiotics and pain relievers.
To establish the severity of diagnosis, you should do CT scan or
colonoscopy.
If the pain is severe, you are not able to drink liquids, or you have complications of diverticulitis, a hospital stay is needed and intravenous antibiotics administered. Other causes include ovarian cysts that ruptured and it would also be seen on CT scan.
Only in more severe cases, some
invasive procedures such as laparoscopy may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
