Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I believe it is self induced based on your query.
Would you clarify a few things for me, please?
*how old are you?
*what is your height and weight?
*do you smoke or consume alcohol?
*do you have any other medical issues or take any medications? Other than ones you already mentioned
*have you had any recent blood work or other tests done? If so what, and the results?
I recommend :
-try massaging your neck with an anti-inflammatory balm/gel after a warm bath or compresses. Apply cool compress over the area after an hour. Do this thrice a day.
If it helps then it is a muscle spasm and you may need to alter your position to get more comfortable.
If it worsens or you have pain in your arm, chest, any unexplained sweating, breathing difficulty, giddiness, light headedness, then you need to see a doctor right away.
In this case :
-a physician and cardiologist opinion
-blood tests (
complete blood count,
Thyroid stimulating hormone,
kidney and
liver function tests,
lipid profile, blood
glucose panel)
-an electrocardiogram and
echocardiogram -Xray of the cervical spine
Based on this we can arrive at a diagnosis and initiate appropriate treatment.
I do believe it is a muscle spasm due to improper position.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
