What Causes Pain On The Left Side Under The Ribcage Radiating Towards Back?
hi! i have been having a dull ache and pain on my left side under my ribcage and going around my back and up my left side. I also have a dull ache in my throat. i do not feel sick...i just feel in slight pain and sometimes ( especially at night) it gets a little worse. It has been happening for about one week. I am a 47 year old woman and was wondering if it could be menopause related.
Hello, From the symptoms you have mentioned it looks to me that you might be having gastric ulcer. Menopausal pain will be more towards lower side of abdomen and in central region. Were you taking aspirin or any of the NSAID group of drugs for longer time for any chronic pain in body? Because if its yes then what i suspect might be true. And that might be the reason for throat pain as it also causes some regurgitation and acidity in esophagus causing pain. I would suggest you to get an endoscopy done after consulting a gastroenterologist because it will be better to visualize the lesion and treat accordingly. Pantoprazole 40mg once a day before breakfast will be beneficial for you but i would advice you to consult a gastroenterologist. I hope i have hepled you. Thank you
