What Causes Pain On The Right Side Of The Face?

I woke up yesterday morning and the right side of my face was hurting. From below the ear to under my jaw.
It is not a terrible pain, however, I have never experienced this before. Feeling both sides of my face, only by the area which is under the ear, did it feel different, as if it was harder, like a growth or swollen. Then under my jaw, it feel tender, but does not ache. It is feeling like a 1 inch. soft squishy ball. Hope that helps describe it. Do you have a clue what this could be? Is this site truly free as it says? I am challenged for money right now.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in the area below the ear to the area under the jaw and also having a soft squishy ball under the jaw which is most probably a swollen lymph node..

Well, all these symptoms are indicating towards some sort of infection and the most probable cause can be related to wisdom tooth as pain in this area can be due to wisdom tooth because no other specific vital structure is present in this area..

The gum flap over the wisdom tooth that can get inflamed due to infection caused by food lodgement in that area and cause pain and swelling as well as swollen lymph nodes..
Other cause can be decay in wisdom tooth that has reached the nerves..

I would therefore suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and x ray can be done for confirmation and treated accordingly..

As of now you can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and also do cool compresses over the face and the swollen lymph node..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
