Hello, I am 28 years old (male), I have pain in right side of my mouth especially when I open mouth for eating or at the time of yawn. I made an appointment with the dentist; he said teeth are okay there is no problem with them. I also concerned with a general physician; he recommended me to eat anti-inflammatory (Amoxicillin) medicine. I took medication for three days. I still have got the same problem of pain in my mouth. I am unable to understand what could be the reason for that and how to get complete treatment? I hope to get positive response from this website Thanking in advance
Well the problem can be related to your right jaw joint or tensed muscle.. Another cause can be Atypical facial pain but chances of jaw joint problem or TMJ are more. You should consult an Oral Surgeon and get an x ray known as Orthopantomogram or OPG done to check your jaw joint.. If there is any problem then treatment of same will provide relief.. For now you do not need antibiotics like Amoxicillin and take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and muscle relaxants like Chlorzoxasone.. Avoid opening the mouth topside as it can add to your pain.. You can also take soft diet and avoid stress.. Take sufficient rest..
Hope this helps.
Regards..
