Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain On Top Of Head Radiating To The Neck?
I have pain in my head on the top left side of my head. I have had it for two to three days and thought it might be from being on the phone and tucking the phone on my neck and doing chores (laundry, folding clothes, etc.) while I am talking with a friend. I have taken naproxen and excedrin without much relief. My left ear also hurts and both the pain in my head and ear hurt even more when I am eating. I had a DVT in my right leg back in April which I have completely recovered from so this pain makes me a little more nervous. I am 65. The pain is also in my neck on the left side. Is this anything I need to do anything about immediately. It does hurt, but I did work in the yard all weekend and went to my job in an office today. I am just worried about whether this could be something more serious. What do you advise?
Welcome to HCM I appreciate your concern about your health if you are not having any other complaint except the pain, then it is most probably due to stress and strain.constantly using mobile while tucking it inside like you mention gives earache. dont worry and try taking a muscle relaxant and painkiller combination thrice a day for two days.if the pain is accompanied by fever and pain persists consult an ENT specialist.
