Hi, I recently fell down the stairs about five days ago and landed on my neck/upper back. I dont feel any pain on my spine but I ve been in pain when I turn my head. the pain gets worse when i wake up and then gets better as the day goes on the pain gets manageable. Is this normal as i heal?
Dear, Pain on movement of head is mostly caused due to injury to muscles namelu searratus / trapezius and scaleneus and that is very much possible as u have history of fall. Pain may be duty injury to spine also. A xray of cervical spine will rule out any spine damage. If its not spinal pathology than u can have pain killer muscle relaxant combination. And heat therapy will help u. It shall go within 15 days. If not resolved than visit an orthopedic surgeon. Thanks. Wish u a healthy life.
