Hello,
Pain in the upper thigh radiating towards the calves is commonly due to injuries such as sprains, strains in the muscles, ligaments and tendons. Other medical conditions causing similar symptoms are
meralgia paresthetica, sciatica,
peripheral artery disease,
deep vein thrombosis, etc.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get all blood workouts,
urinalysis, nerve conduction tests, nerve biopsy and imaging (CT, MRI, EEG, etc) tests done. Get assessed and pathology detected so that the treatment can be started at the earliest.
In the meantime take anti-inflammatory medicines, NSAIDS like Naproxen or Combiflam, one SOS when needed. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12,
vitamin E or supplements. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
