What Causes Pain, Redness And Tenderness In The Heel?

Pain, tenderness and redness developed in my left heel -- started last evening and is progressively getting worse. No injury, trauma, etc. The symptoms just came on gradually. I had a massage yesterday, which included my feet and calf area. Never experienced anything similar to this.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain, redness and tenderness in heel can be most commonly due to causes like tears and inflammation in planter fascia known as Planter Fascitis..
While other causes can be bursitis, Achilles tendonitis, heel spurs,Tarsal tunnel syndrome, gout, infection etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Podiatrist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and advise you investigations like x ray, ultrasound etc to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms and treat you according to the cause diagnosed..
The physician can advise yo to take anti -inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen or Naprofen, muscle relaxants like Chlorzoxaone, analgesic and muscle relaxant ointments..
You an be advised orthotic appliances, heel cups or heel pads, night splints etc..
Physiotherapy and cool compresses can also be advised for relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
