What Causes Pain, Swelling And Numbness In The Nose And Headache?
I have pain in swelling in my nose. It has been gpi g on for 6 days and is getting worse. There is no pain or swelling in my cheeks or eyes. I have swollen glands under my jaw, by my ears. I have not been hit on my nose. I am not sneezing, or caughing, i do not have a fever. I have a headache, there is tingling and numbness in my nose. I can breathe through my nose. But it hurts.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The nasal swelling is due to inflammation/swelling of the blood vessels & accumulation of fluids (non-allergic rhinitis). It is caused by infection or environmental factors that triggers like smoke, pollen, paint fumes, changes in the weather, etc. Swollen glands can be tonsils/headache due to cold. After consultation with PCP take antihistamines, decongestants, acetaminophen (Tylenol)or Ibuprofen & antibiotics/antivirals for relieve. If you are having problems still it can be sinusitis, get nasal X-ray done for your paranasal sinuses, get treated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
