What Causes Pain, Swelling And Redness In And Around Belly Button?

what could be causing pain,swelling and redness in and around belly button of my husband. No injury to area, CT didn t show a hernia. Was told it was a skin infection. Pain is the same or worse after ER visit which received antibiotics and pain meds. Now a lump has developed in belly button and area just below and outside belly button you can feel a lump. Any suggestions

I understand your concern for your husband.
According to the symptoms you mentioned, this the infection of the umbilicus. Due to dirt and moisture there are many chances of it getting infected. Probably the antibiotic course was not completed by you or resistant antibiotic given or it may be fungal infection. My advice is first you wash the umbilicus with warm water and keep it dry. Then apply antibiotic+Antifungal+steroid ointment thrice daily for 10 days.
Take Anti-inflammatory drugs under your physicians advice. Apply warm water fomentation. This will soothe you.
