What Causes Pain Under Left Rib While Taking Cipro For Diverticulitis?

I m experiencing my 2nd bout with diverticulitis. My 1st one was Sept. 7th and lasted around 2 weeks. I had a contrast catscan done, then My Dr prescribed 2 antibiotics and a liquid then soft diet. I recovered well. It s back again. I m back on Cipro 2 x a day, and on liquids only for 2 days now but now I m having pain under my front left cage. Is this normal to have with Diverticulitis?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain under left rib while taking Cipro for diverticulitis . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like broken rib , injuries to the chest , osteoporosis , inflamed lining of the lungs , muscle spasms or some cardiac problems like angina , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to side effects of cipro as it case pain in abdomen or chest as side effect sometimes . I would suggest you to consult your gastroenterologist and discuss the condition . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute . Doctor may also refer you to chest specialist for chest problem or cardiologist for heart problem .
