Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain under my rib cage on the left side . I know the gallbladder is on the right side, but anyway I had a ejection fraction test done in 2005 with results of 7.1. Today almost seven years later had another ejection fraction test done on the gallbladder and it was 9%. I also have severe sweating, burp a lot and have loose bowels. I had a normal abdominal ultrasound except for fatty infiltration throughout the liver. Liver measuring 16 cm. AP.I had no pain during ejection fraction test.Do you have any advice for me?
Hello, 1) Ejection fraction is used to measured functionality of heart. Chest pain with such low ejection fraction indicate cardiac problem and need consultation with internal medicine specialist. 2) Continuous burping with chest pain suggest possibility of GERD. It require consultation with medical gastroenterologist. It occur due to irritation of esophagus from stomach content which moves upward due to weak esophagus-stomach junction. Sometimes it requires upper GI endoscopy also to confirm severity and extent of involvement.
