What Causes Pain Under The Left Rib Cage Radiating To The Back?
I have pain under left rib that seems to go to my back. I ve been diagnosed before for having a couple of kidney stones. This was awile ago. Now I have pain on my right side too. I feel sick suddenly and it last for a short time every so often. It seems to happen when I m hungry. I do have gastriointestinal problems too. What type of doctor do I go to. I have taken an azo test a few weeks ago and it showed positive but I ve gone to a family dr. before and they said it was negative. What kind of dr should I go to a urologist or md.
The problem may be related to kidney stones but you need proper evaluation for the other symptoms. So it's good to see a medical specialist for assessment. He would assess you properly for all symptoms.
He can do a scan to see for any stones and hence would provide you a better advice ahead regarding the stones and gastric problems.
Here we generally advise checking for serum calsiun as sometimes all symptoms may be related to high calsiun.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
