What Causes Pain Under The Nail Of The Left Thumb?

I have pain under my left thumb s fingernail that came on suddenly. It has happened before on different fingers on both hands, and eventually goes away. The pain feels like I have a splinter stuck under my nail, even though I am 10% sure I don t, and I haven t injured it in any way.

You have to do a complete blood count and hemoglobie electroforesis. May be it is drepanocitosis a kind of heritable anemia . Any way there is no cure for it. Only keep hands warm and keep yourself well oxygenated to avoid pain.
