What Causes Pain Under The Ribcage On The Left Side?
I am having pain on my left side under ribcage. Also my right side under rib cage. Burning pain on my right middle abdomen to the right of belly button. Also pain in pelvic area. Mostly on right side but sometimes on left side. When I poo it is all watery and yellow for the past 5 days. I have had the left side pain for 20 days. All other symptoms began 5 days ago.
You can have enterocolitis or diverticulitis like infective aetiology. For that, you can be prescribed an empirical antibiotic course for five days.
Maintain hydration with lots of water. It's advisable to take probiotic tablet also for a few days. If no improvement than stool routine micro examination should be done for further work up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
